Postcard stir held to seek Valmiki’s statue in city

December 2, 2020

Mysore/Mysuru: Members of Nayaka Pade held a ‘post card’ stir seeking installation of Maharshi Valmiki statue in front of Mini Vidhana Soudha, Nazarbad in city. The protest was held opposite Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), where the protesters posted cards at the postal box.

Nayaka Pade President Paduvarahalli M. Ramakrishna said this has been pending for the last 10 years and no action had been taken despite the MCC adopting unanimous resolution in its meeting. The BJP which came to power in the name of Lord Ram has shown negligence in the installation of Maharshi Valmiki statue, who wrote epic Ramayana.

To attract the attention of Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, they held a postcard stir, he said.

Sridhar Betta, Govindaraju, Timmanayak, Rammanahalli Shivannna, Kyathamaranahalli Yogesh, Navin, Santosh and others were present.
