Sir,
I am writing to bring to your immediate attention an issue that has been causing significant distress to the residents of Saraswathipuram, particularly along Vishwamanava Double Road adjacent to the Mysore Library compound.
What initially began with a small number of food vendors has now escalated into a concerning situation, with over 10 mobile food joints operating in the area.
The rapid proliferation of these food stalls is not only causing severe traffic congestion but also raising serious concerns about food hygiene and quality.
Many of us, including myself, have witnessed the negative impact of these vendors, with several individuals falling ill due to food poisoning after consuming food from these joints.
Despite this, the authorities seem to be turning a blind eye to the situation, with no action taken to address the issue.
In addition to the health hazards, the footpaths meant for pedestrians are now obstructed, making it extremely difficult and dangerous for people, especially the elderly and children, to walk through the area. The vendors are occupying public space further worsening the traffic disruptions.
It is my humble request that the authorities concerned (our MLA, MP, DC, MCC Commissioner, Police Commissioner, and Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) take swift and decisive action to clear the footpaths for pedestrian use and address the public health risks posed by unhygienic food stalls.
This is not just an issue of convenience but one of public health and safety. We need to ensure that our community is protected from potential harm and that the streets are safe and accessible for all. I am hopeful that prompt action will be taken to resolve this matter.
