Rebel Star’s fan ends life

Maddur: In a reported incident, a 52-year-old ardent fan of actor-politician Ambarish, ended his life by falling under a moving train at Nidaghatta near Maddur on Mysuru-Bengaluru section yesterday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Thammaiah (52), of Hottegowdanadoddi in Maddur taluk.

Depressed on the death of Ambarish, Thammaiah came under a Bengaluru-Mysuru train at Nidaghatta at about 10.30 am and died at the spot.

He leaves behind his wife Sudha and two children. Channapatna Railway Police have registered a case in this regard.

CM Kumaraswamy appeals fans not to take extreme step: Even as the news of Thammaiah’s suicide spread, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Sunday appealed fans of the late actor not to take aany extremestep.

Pointing out that the death of Ambarish has brought grief to everyone, Kumaraswamy said that fans should not end their lives out of emotion.

Noting that everyone should understand that while birth is accidental, death is certain, Kumaraswamy appealed fans for restraint and not to take any hard decisions.

Continuing, the CM said that Ambarish’s body was brought to Mandya as per the wishes of his fans. The fans should pay their last respects to the late actor without giving scope for any untoward incidents, he said and added that the actor’s body would be airlifted back to Bengaluru on Monday morning for the conduct of last rites at Kanteerava Studio on Monday afternoon.
