The registration for Dasara Marathon, scheduled on Oct. 6, has begun at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad. The Marathon will be flagged at 6.30 am.

The marathon is being held under 3 categories — 21.1km run for men and women, 10km run for college boys and girls and 5km run for school boys and girls. The Dasara Sports Sub-Committee has also announced cash prizes in each category. The first prize for 21.1 km Marathon is Rs.40,000, second prize – Rs.30,000, third prize – Rs.20,000, fourth prize – Rs.15,000, fifth prize – Rs.10,000 and sixth prize – Rs.5,000.

The first prize in 10km run is Rs.20,000, second – Rs. 15,000, third – Rs.10,000, fourth – Rs.5,000, fifth-Rs.4,000 and sixth – Rs.3,000. The first prize in 5km run is Rs.10,000, second – Rs.5,000, third-Rs.4,000, fourth – Rs. 3,000, fifth – Rs.2,000 and sixth – Rs.1,000.

Those interested in taking part, can register between 10 am and 5 pm till Oct.4 and between 10 am and 1 pm on Oct.5, at the following centres: Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Nazarbad; Lions Hall at Oval Grounds and Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Vinoba Road. Registration is free.
