This refers to your report titled ‘Green carnage: 45 heritage trees felled,’ published in Star of Mysore dated Apr. 13, 2025.

I am writing to you as a concerned resident of Mysuru.

It was a road with such shade-giving avenue trees that we enjoyed walking under during our college days. A seat on a stone bench under a rain tree was the ultimate air-conditioned effect back then!

In the light of the recent tree-felling, here I am sharing some information on tree transplantation facilities and companies engaged in this job.

Tree transplantation, or the relocation of existing trees, is a common practice for urban development, landscaping and environmental reasons. Services are available from various companies and costs can vary significantly based on tree size, species and other factors.
