Retired PSI succumbs to injuries

Mysuru:  A retired Police Sub-Inspector (PSI), who was undergoing treatment at a city hospital for injuries sustained in a road mishap recently, succumbed to injuries early this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Madhav Rao Pawar (67), a resident of Giridarshini Layout in city. He was riding his scooter on Mysuru-Nanjangud road on Nov. 8 when he was knocked down by a speeding Tata Ace Goods vehicle near the APMC Yard at Bandipalya.

Pawar, who sustained serious injuries in the mishap, was admitted to JSS Hospital, where he breathed his last  at 6.45 am today.

The PSI had served in various Police Stations in the city and district in his over three decades of service in the Police Department. He leaves behind his wife, two sons and two daughters.

Mysuru South Police have registered a case in this regard.
