‘Roadside vendors must avail cash back on digital transactions’

Mysore/Mysuru: Deputy General Manager (DGM) of State Bank of India (SBI), Rajesh Kumar Chowdhari has said that “The roadside vendors should avail of cash back facility by doing digital transactions.”

Chowdhari addressed a gathering during the launch of ‘Nanu Digital 4.0’ campaign to promote digital transactions and training organised as part of PM SVANidhi, by Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) at SBI Central Branch premises on New Sayyaji Rao Road in city recently.

“State Bank of India has sanctioned loans to 5,209 beneficiaries and 4,477 among them have benefited. A total of 6,977 beneficiaries in Mysuru district have taken the loan from the bank,” added the DGM.

It will be beneficial for the loanees among roadside vendors if they transact online in the interest of their business.  If the beneficiaries repay the loan on digital mode, they will be given a cash back of Rs. 1,200. The first time loan component is Rs. 10,000 and second time – Rs. 20,000. If the loans are repaid under both components, Rs. 50,000 loan will be disbursed in the third component. The needy should make use of the facility and financially be empowered by doing the business, advised DGM Chowdhari.

MCC Additional Deputy Commissioner (Administration) M.J. Roopa said “The training programme will be conducted in the premises of prominent banks till Feb.16.  Beneficiaries of PM SVANidhi  may attend.”

The QR code was generated along with EPI for 74 roadside vendors on the occasion.

Similar training programme on digital transactions was conducted for roadside vendors at Canara Bank in Nazarbad.

SBI Regional Managers R.P. Singh and Venkateshalu, Vidya of Lead Bank and Campaign Coordinator J.S. Bhyralingaiah were present during the campaign.
