Rotary Venus Shramajeevi Awards conferred

May 3, 2024

Mysore/Mysuru: Senior Labour Officer H.P. Jayanna said, “It is essential to create awareness about labour laws among the labourers.”

He was addressing the gathering during a programme organised to confer Rotary Venus Shramajeevi Awards at Rotary Hall on JLB Road in city on Wednesday.

“The Central and State Governments have made several laws for the security and welfare of labourers. However, nowadays the contractual employees are meted out injustice with due facilities and benefits not provided in time to them,” rued Jayanna.

There are some instances of contract staff suffering at the hands of their employers and the Department of Labour Welfare is working towards preventing such atrocities, besides creating awareness among the labourers, he added.

Rotary Venus Shramajeevi Awards were conferred on Anganwadi Teacher S. Radhika and Nurse Mary.

Rotary Mysore Midtown President Rtn. D. Srinivasan, Hon. Secretary Rtn. Sathyendra Kashyap and award sponsor R. Venkatesh were present.
