Schools asked to submit proposals for availing Rs. 1 lakh grant

The Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports has asked Government Schools in the district which  have student sportspersons who have excelled in sporting events organised by the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports or the Education Department or by Government recognised sports organisations, to send proposal for availing Rs.1 lakh grant (each school), out of which Rs.10,000 will be given for Physical Education teachers of selected schools and Rs. 90,000 to the selected schools’ SDMC for purchase of sports gears and articles. The grant is provided under Nammoora Shaale, Namma Yuvajanaru scheme introduced in 2017-18 as part of State Youth Policy-2012.

The schools can send their proposal to the Department Office located in Chamundi Vihar Stadium, Nazarbad,                                         before June 27.  For further details, contact Ph: 0821-2564179, according to a release from the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports.
