Chamarajanagar MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad ridicules Siddu’s claims of good governance

Mysore/Mysuru: Chamarajanagar MP V. Sreenivasa Prasad has ridiculed Congress leader Siddharamaiah for losing 27 out of 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka when he was in power. “He has always claimed that he has given a pro-people administration for five years but could win only one Lok Sabha seat. This is the level of his administration,” the MP charged.

Speaking to reporters at his Jayalakshmipuram home last evening, the MP lashed out at the Congress leader and said, “During the last Lok Sabha elections, Siddharamaiah accompanied by Rahul Gandhi and toured the State to drum up support. Wherever he went, he claimed that he provided good governance. But people rejected him and he was able to win only one seat. This is his reputation,” Sreenivasa Prasad said.

On the former CM’s contest from Varuna against BJP’s V. Somanna, Sreenivasa Prasad said that it has been wrongly projected in social media that Somanna has been a target of people from Varuna. “Somanna is a new candidate and naturally people will question him. It is impossible to please all in a democratic system. Even if the PM comes, people will question him. If Somanna is an outsider, then who was Siddharamaiah to Badami Constituency? Also, was Kolar Siddharamaiah’s native, he questioned,

On Nanjangud Constituency where his son-in-law B. Harshavardhan is pitted against Darshan Dhruvanarayan, son of former MP and KPCC Working President R. Dhruvanarayan who passed away recently, Prasad said that Harshavardhan has taken up developments works in Nanjangud and sympathy factor cannot neutralise it.

“Sympathy factor will not work all the time. Politicians cutting across party lines were deeply moved by the death of Dhruvanarayan and his wife and even I had called on Darshan and sympathised with the family. I feel that the development works undertaken in Nanjangud in the last five years and the Rs. 500 crore grants to take up infrastructure works in the Constituency will not be negated by the voters due to sympathy factor,” he added.
