Mysuru: A two-day special skill certification training programme for hotel staff under the ‘Paryatan Mitra’ and ‘Paryatan Didi’ initiative was organised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, on Nov.4 and 5 at a private hotel in city.
This training programme aimed to enhance the skills of hotel staff and improve the quality of services in the tourism sector. The event was inaugurated by D. Venkatesan, Regional Director of Tourism (South).
M.K. Savitha, Joint Director of the Tourism Department and C. Narayanagowda, President of the Mysuru Hotel Owners Association, were also present.
The two-day training focused on equipping hotel staff with knowledge to improve service quality, cleanliness and communication with tourists. This initiative provides free training to employees in the hotel industry, aiming to develop tourism and create a positive experience for visitors.
According to the Ministry, the initiative was launched to offer tourism-related training and awareness to all individuals who interact with tourists at various destinations.
Recognising Mysuru as a key tourist hub, the Ministry prioritised hotel staff for this training. The programme emphasised the importance of tourism, general cleanliness, safety, sustainability and the delivery of the highest standards of hospitality and care to tourists.
