As part of its Silver Jubilee this year, Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) will start Skill Development Training for students under Chief Minister’s Kaushalya Karnataka Yojane (CMKKY). KSOU has been providing academic training in Under Graduate (UG), Post-Graduate (PG) and Diploma. Through Skill Development Training, KSOU wants to encourage candidates towards creating self-employment. In order to provide training under CMKKY 2021-22, Karnataka Skill Development Authority (KSDA) had directed the KSOU on Aug. 25 to begin Skill Development Training.
Meanwhile, KSOU has entered into an agreement with KSDA to impart training according to the job roles of the institution. Also Managing Director of KSDA has instructed KSOU to start the training from this year onwards. Candidates should strictly follow COVID guidelines during the training period and should have taken the vaccination.
KSOU Vice-Chancellor Prof. S. Vidyashankar told SOM that the Varsity is not only limited to Distance Education, it is all set to provide Skill Development Training for the students from this year onwards and a circular will be issued with regard to the admission process soon.
