Sir,
Thank you so much for your absorbing article titled ‘Sky Force, a film on Squadron Leader A.B. Devayya’ (Abracadabra by K.B. Ganapathy) in SOM dated Jan. 31, 2025.
Your analysis of the movie ‘Sky Force’ has been forthright. However, the glaring distortion of facts by the film producers is unacceptable. Kodavas have immensely contributed and continue to contribute to Indian Armed Forces — Air, Army and Navy, during peace and war times.
I earnestly urge the producers of the film to tender an unconditional apology to the entire Kodava community members and all the Indians for the distortion of facts on Squadron Leader A.B. Devayya. A big blunder by the Film Censor Board of India is shameful.
Meanwhile, several eminent Kodavas have vented their anger against the producers of the film ‘Sky Force,’ in a video which has gone viral.

NOTE: ‘Sky Force’ co-director Abhishek Anil Kapur has already apologised for any unintentional hurt caused to the Kodava community, and the news has been published in Star of Mysore dated February 1, 2025, under the title ‘Hurting Kodavas was never our intention.’ —Ed
