Special Handloom Exhibition at JSS Mysore Urban Haat from Dec. 8 to 25

Mysore/Mysuru: “My Handloom My Pride,” a Special Handloom Exhibition will be held at  JSS Mysore Urban Haat in Hebbal from Dec. 8 to 25 between 10.30 am and 9 pm daily.

The expo is organised under the sponsorship of the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms),  Ministry of Textiles, Cauvery Handlooms, Bengaluru and the Departments of Handlooms & Textiles and Commerce, in association with  JSS Mahavidyapeetha.

More than 60 Weavers and Weavers Societies from all over India including National and State awardees are exhibiting and selling their attractive traditional and heritage handloom products at the expo.

The weavers will exhibit Punjabi Phulkari, Patiala Suits, Bhagalpur Tussar Silk sarees, duppatta, Handlooms from Madhya Pradesh, Grass Mats, Curtains, Jaipur Kurthas,  Raprons, Kanjivaram Silk Sarees, Ilakal Kasuthi and Molakalmur sarees of Karnataka, Jute bags, Kantha stitch sarees, Banaras sarees and Dress Materials, Boutique Sarees and Dress, Bengali Cotton sarees, Kashmir Handlooms, Chicken Embroidery, Rajasthan Embroidery, Gujarat Dress, Vegetable print Dress Materials and other attractive Handlooms Items.

20% discount will be available on all Handloom products at the expo which will be inaugurated tomorrow at 4 pm by District Minister S.T. Somashekar. Minister of Textiles & Sugarcane Shankar Patil Munenakoppa,  MLA G.T. Devegowda, Mayor Shivakumar and others will be chief guests.

There is no entrance and parking fee for the visitors. City bus facility has been arranged from bus stand (No.117), according to M. Shivananjaswamy,  Project Officer,  JSS Mysore Urban Haat, Ring Road, Hebbal  Industrial Area.
