Mysuru: Stating that sports helps the employees to come out of workplace hassles, Mysuru Revenue Division Regional Commissioner D.S. Ramesh said that, sports also plays a key role in uniting people by sorting out any differences and enhances physical and mental capabilities.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Divisional-level Sports and Cultural competitions organised by the Social Welfare Department for its employees at the University of Mysore Sports Pavilion here recently.
“Taking part in sports and cultural competitions will make one forget everything for the moment. Sports will also provide us recreation, enthusiasm, enjoyment and relishment. Even the big ones will become a child when taking part in sports. As such the Government is holding such sports and cultural meets for officials and other staff since the past two years,” Ramesh said adding that it is important for every staff to take part in such meets.
ZP CEO K.M. Gayathri said that it is important for the staff to maintain physical and mental stability after working hours and called upon them to engage themselves in sports and other such activities in order to improve their self-confidence.
Social Welfare Department Joint Director Rangegowda, Assistant Director A.N. Janardhan, International Athlete Dr. Ganapathy Jakati, N. Muniraju, Sulochana, Venkataraju and others were present.
