Mysuru: Rev. Dr. Joseph Mar Thoma, Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Syrian Church and Patron of St. Thomas Institutions, Mysuru, dedicated the Senior Secondary Block of St. Thomas Institutions at Vishweswaranagar in the city this morning.
Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Makarios, Chairman of St. Thomas Institutions, Mysuru, graced the occasion. The dedication of the block was followed by a public meeting at the School auditorium, in which the Institution Manager Rev. Prakash Abraham, Hon. Secretary Sam Cherian Kumbukattu, Hon. Treasurer Ebby Eapen and others were present.
St. Thomas Institutions, run and managed by Mar Thoma Education Society (MTES), was established in 1964, with a vision to provide high standard affordable education to the less privileged sections of society.
St. Thomas Central School, one of the first CBSE Schools of the city, has at present over 2,700 students and 125 teaching and non-teaching staff.
In response to the increasing admissions and to provide high standard classrooms, the MTES has built the new block with modern facilities for the Senior Secondary Section of St. Thomas English Medium School, at a cost of about Rs. 2 crore, it is learnt.
