Mysuru: A day-long State-level meet of Karnataka State ESIS Nurses Association was inaugurated in MMC&RI Platinum Jubilee Hall at J.K. Grounds here this morning.
In his inaugural address, MLA M.K. Somashekar said that he has received a memorandum from the Association seeking promotion and statutory facilities to ESIS Nurses, which he will forward to Chief Minister Siddharamaiah and the Labour Minister Santosh S. Lad for consideration.
Pointing out that nurses play a key role in the care and recovery of patients, Somashekar said that the nursing profession was a noble one. Observing that nursing profession had no time limit, the MLA called upon the nurses to give their best while caring for the patients.
Prior to the commencement of the meet, a seminar on the topic ‘Current Challenges in the Nursing Profession’ was held.
Mysuru ESI Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr. R. L. Chilakawad, Association State President N.S. Dinesh, office-bearers H. Susheelamma, Sanaulla, K.S. Shivakumar, Government Employees Association District President H.K. Ramu and others were present.
