State-level Government Employees Sports Meet in city from Jan.28

ADC T. Yogesh holds preliminary meeting

Mysuru: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) T. Yogesh has said that a three-day State-level Government Employees Sports Meet will be held in city from Jan.28 to 30.

Presiding over a preliminary meeting at Chamundi Vihar  Stadium in Nazarbad here on Saturday, Yogesh said that the Meet will be inaugurated at 4 pm on Jan.28 at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in city. Sports and cultural events will take place on Jan.29 and 30, he said.

Sports event featuring Hockey, Wrestling, Kabaddi, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Tennikoit, Weight-lifting, Best Physique, Chess, Ball Badminton, Throwball, Swimming, Carrom, Football, Shuttle Badminton, Table Tennis, Bridge and Cricket, will take place at Chamundi Vihar Indoor Stadium, University of Mysore Grounds and at other suitable places, if found necessary.

Music and Cultural contests such as Classical Singing, Hindustani, Karnatak and Light Music, Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Manipuri, Kuchipudi, Odissi and other Classical Dances, Classical Instrumental Music, Folk Songs and Dances, Handicrafts Expo and Skits will take place at Kalamandira and Rangayana premises, Yogesh said.

Pointing out that only those who have qualified at the District-level are taking part in this State-level Meet, the ADC directed the officials to note down the mobile numbers of all those taking part in the event.

He also instructed the officials to note down the KGID numbers of the participants who are taking part in the Meet and to set up an information kiosk and a helpline for the benefit of participants.

He further instructed to ensure that ambulances and doctors are stationed at all the venues of the event.

State Government Employees Association District President H.K. Ramu, Assistant Commissioner H.N. Shivegowda, Food and Civil Supplies Joint Director Shivanna, Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports Assistant Director K. Suresh and other officials attended the preliminary meeting.
