The Department of School Education (Pre-University), Mysuru, in association with Vijaya Vittala PU College, have organised a State-level Karate Tournament at Gymkaratenasium Hall, University of Mysore, on Nov. 15 and 16.

R. Vasudev Bhat, Hon. Secretary of VVEI, will inaugurate the Tournament on Nov. 15 at 6.30 pm. Sindhu B. Roopesh, Director, Department of School Education (PU), will preside over the function. Dr. C.G. Ramesh, Assistant Director, Sports Section, Department of School Education (PU), Bengaluru, will be the chief guest.

M. Mariswamy, DDPUE, Mysuru, Dr. T.R. Siddaraju, Senior Principal and A.L. Umesh, Hon. President of District Government Employees Association, M.M. Mahadeva, President of Mysuru District PU College Lecturers Association, will be present on the occasion.

Prize distribution function will be held on Nov. 16 at 7 pm at the same venue. K.N. Prasad, Trustee of VVEI, will preside over the function. Dr. C. Venkatesh, Director, Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore, will distribute the prizes. CA Vishwanatha, Trustee of VVEI, S. Somashekar, Senior Principal, A.C. Manjegowda, Secretary of Mysuru District PU College Lecturers Association, will be present on the occasion.

More than 650 Karatekas from various districts of Karnataka are expected to participate in the two-day event.
