Stray dog menace: MCC needs to wake up

January 12, 2025

Sir,

This is regarding the stray dog menace across the city. I have been informed that the team — PFA — commissioned to round up and sterilise street dogs has ceased operations due to non-payment of dues by MCC.

Until recently, I regularly sought their services and they were remarkably prompt in dispatching their team to address the issue. It is ironic that we have a Government willing to spend substantial amounts on ephemeral cosmetic projects for Dasara, yet fails to ensure safe neighbourhoods for its citizens, citing a lack of financial resources.

Will MCC wake up and address this issue before the city literally goes to the dogs?
