Taare Zameen Par painting event for specially-abled children

Mysuru: Mysore Amity Round Table-156, the Mysore chapter of Round Table India (RTI) along with Mysore Amity Ladies Circle -108, celebrated Children’s Day in a unique way by organising ‘Taare Zameen Par’, an exclusive painting  event for differently-abled children at Vanaranga in Rangayana premises.

 Dr. Ravikumar, Vice-Chairman, Area 13, was the chief guest. Cr. Kavya Kalish, Past Area Chairperson, Area 13, Ladies Circle India, was present along with Tablers from MART-156  and MALC-108. Speaking about the initiative, Tr. Adith Raju, Chairman, MART-156 said, “The guiding philosophy of the event is that every child is a star and we need to help them twinkle with colour and joy.” 

C.R. Rupal Metha, Chair-person, MALC-108 said “The idea behind Taare Zameen Par is to provide an opportunity for differently-abled kids to showcase their talent and make them feel special.” Participant Schools are: 

1. Puttaveeramma School, Kuvempunagar (35 students); 2. Government Deaf and Dumb School, Bannimantap (24 students);  3. Sai Ranga Vidya Samsthe, Bannimantap (27 students); 4. Mercy Convent, JP Nagar (50 students); 5. Prithvi Charitable Trust (17 students). 

Winners

Primary School (1st to 4th Std.) – Shahima of Puttaveeramma School; Middle School (5th to 7th Std.) – Chaitanya of Mercy Convent; High School (8th to 10th Std.) – Praveen Kumar of  Sri Sai Ranga School.
