Three persons including two students commit suicide

In three separate incidents, two students and a housewife have committed suicide in city.

In the first incident, a 22-year-old Mechanical Engineering student of SJCE and a resident of Hullina Beedhi near Agrahara, committed suicide by hanging self in a room on the first floor of his house here yesterday. The deceased student has been identified as M.S. Ganesh Prasad, son of Somashekar, a Sub-Inspector attached to Sargur Police Station.

The incident came to light when Ganesh’s sister went to his room as he (Ganesh) had not come down. She immediately informed the family members.

K.R. Police, who rushed to the spot on being informed, removed the body and shifted it to MMC&RI mortuary for post-mortem besides registering a case.

The reason for his death is yet to be ascertained.

In the second incident, a 20-year-old D. Pharma student at JSS College of Pharmacy in city, identified as Hamab Hameed, committed suicide by hanging self to a ceiling fan in his house at Shivarathreeshwara Nagar here yesterday afternoon.

Hameed, who came from the college yesterday afternoon, went to his room where he hanged himself to the ceiling fan. The incident came to light, when one of his friends who came to his house went to his room to talk to him and immediately informed Hameed’s family members.

N.R. Police, who rushed to the spot on receiving information, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary, registered a case and are investigating.

In the third incident, a housewife, unable to bear stomach ache, committed suicide by jumping into Kapila River at Atwal Dam near Hullahalli in Nanjangud on Tuesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Mangalamma (50), wife of Shankarappa, resident of Karya in Nanjangud.

It is reported that Mangalamma, who was suffering from stomach ache since about two years, had become depressed and on Tuesday at about 5.30 pm, she left the house saying that she was going to Hullahalli to purchase puja materials, but went to Atwal Dam and committed suicide by jumping into the Kapila River.

Hullahalli Police  have registered a case.
