Time to have Satellite Railway Station at Metagalli

February 21, 2021

Sir,

With Mysuru city growing in all the directions and becoming hub of many industrial and commercial activities, there are many blue prints made, like taking up the Kushalnagar Railway line, expanding the existing airport near Mandakalli etc.

Similarly, Naganahalli is also being considered as the Satellite Railway Station to offtake the traffic load of rails.

Just two years ago, a Railway line was drawn (thanks to Railway for this speedy project) from NMGT to Metagalli where it connected Mysuru Arasikere tracks. A deep thought may also be made in this regard to bring a Railway Station near Metagalli, opposite Hotel Royal Inn underbridge. This can cater passengers from nearby places like Anandur, Hootagalli, Vijayanagar 3rd and 4th Stage, Bogadi, Belavadi, Hebbal and so on.

The train either may start from this point to reach NMGT and continue travel via Naganahalli. Alternately, a survey may also be made from Metagalli, that is, behind J.K. Tyre to lay tracks to reach Naganahalli or Palahalli, as the case may be, so that even when Kushalnagar Railway line is completed, a straight train to Bengaluru may be run in this route which will benefit the public. This may even ease the rake parking congestion at Mysore Yard which may be taken note of.

Hope the dynamic MP of Mysuru-Kodagu Prathap Simha can take this proposal forward and add one more feather to his cap of achievements!
