Mandya: A toddler died when she fell into a big vessel filled with water kept in a bathroom at a residence in Vishveshwaraiahnagar of Maddur town here yesterday.

The deceased has been identified as Belli, one-year-old daughter of Manasa and Raju.

The girl who was playing at home accidentally entered the bathroom and fell into the vessel while her mother was cooking in the kitchen.

The incident came to light when her mother spotted the girl in the vessel filled with water and battling for life.

The girl breathed her last en route to hospital.

Grief-stricken parents were seen wailing and weeping aloud for the death of their daughter.

A case has been registered at Maddur Town Police Station in this regard.
