Mysuru: Team Mysuru took out a torchlight march to pay tributes to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, who had laid down their lives during the freedom struggle.
The members, who assembled at Nanjaraja Bahadur Choultry on Vinobha Road, held the portraits of Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev, Rajguru and took out a march by holding torches. The torchlight march passed through Shivarampet, Devaraj Urs Road and culminated at the starting point.
Speaking before the commencement of the march, BJP leader Phanish said that apart from remembering the great leaders who lived for the country, we should also resolve to live for the country. Pointing out that the story of the sacrifice, struggle and ideals of these valiant sons always inspire the countrymen, he said that martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru, who laid down their lives happily for the country, are always the role models for the younger generation.
Former MLA and City BJP President L. Nagendra, former Corporators Prashanth and M.U. Subbaiah, Manju, Team Mysuru’s Gokul Govardhan, Prasanna and others were present.
