Mysuru: A tribal youth from the district has been selected to take part in the National Dance Contest.

T. Ajay, a tribal youth from KRS, who took part in the State Level Sports Dance Championship in Bengaluru recently, is the one who will be taking part in the National-level championship to be held in New Delhi in January.

Ajay, son of Karnataka Adivasi Rakshana Parishat’s Srirangapatna Taluk President S. Savitri, is a first year student of BVA (Bachelor of Visual Arts) at Srikalaniketana School of Arts in the city.

Ajay, who developed a penchant for dancing as a teenager, formed his own dance team.

He and his team excelled at the Sports Dance Championship held at Bengaluru recently, with himself winning a Gold Medal and his team three Gold and two silver medals.
