Twist in hi-tech sex racket case: Accused’s wife alleges that the girl had demanded money

Mysuru: After the girl (victim) accusing two Kannada actors of seeking sexual favours which the actors refused, the wife of accused Rajesh (owner of Like Trend Family Saloon in Bogadi) who is arrested by the Police has accused the girl of demanding money from them.

Speaking to media persons, Rajesh’s wife Savitha (mentioned as Bharathi alias Indira in initial reports) said that the girl was speaking a lot with someone over the phone the day before the Police raided the saloon and had also demanded money. “As we were facing  financial problems, we refused to give her money following which she has made false allegations against  us,” said Savitha.

She said that the media was projecting her as the victim in the case and added that in reality they were the victims. “We have opened the saloon by taking loans and are now facing financial problems as business in the saloon is dull,” she said and added that they have not paid the rent of the building since two months.

Savitha said that they do not even have a house to lead a life and were staying in the saloon building besides stating that the girl (victim) has levelled false allegations against her husband and her.

She further stated that the girl joined for work last month and took leave on Nov.21 but returned only on Dec.19 and alleged that the girl had conspired with others and had planned to defame us besides stating that they have CCTV footages as witness to their claims.

Savitha said that the saloon was opened three months ago with CCTV cameras installed in it and questioned how could her husband rape her? She also said that she has not gone anywhere since the saloon was opened.

She said that the saloon offers only hair cut, shave and face wash and nothing else and added that she is yet to know on what grounds the Police raided the saloon and arrested her husband. She challenged the Police to make public the proof.

Savitha said that the girl had joined hands with a city-based NGO and has hatched a plot besides stating that she (Savitha) would launch a legal battle against those who have made allegations against her family.

Meanwhile, Swamy, the owner of the building in which the saloon is housed, said that there is no such thing as body massage or prostitution racket going on in the saloon and alleged that the girl (victim) had made false allegations against Rajesh and Savitha couple.

He said that the Kannada actor Mandya Ramesh had come for the inauguration and after that neither Mandya Ramesh nor Sadhu Kokila have come to the saloon.

Meanwhile, the Police are said to have visited the saloon for inspection and are said to have examined  the CCTV footages.
