Two killed as bikes collide head-on

Mandya: Two riders were killed on the spot and pillion riders seriously injured when their bikes collided head-on near Madugere Gate, Bookanakere hobli in K.R. Pet taluk last night.

The deceased are Swamygowda (55) of Ganjigere Koppal and Kumar (45) of Maachagonahalli. 

The injured are Swamygowda’s daughter Reshma and his grandson Uday, who have been admitted to a private hospital in Mysuru.

Swamygowda, along with his daughter Reshma and grandson Uday, was proceeding on his Hero Honda bike from Ganjigere Koppal, when Kumar, who was riding another bike collided head-on with Swamygowda’s bike resulting in both the riders being killed on the spot. Reshma suffered serious head injuries and Uday suffered a fracture on his leg.

K.R. Pet Rural Police Sub-Inspector Lakshman and staff, who rushed to the spot, shifted the bodies to Dundashetty Lakshmamma Memorial General Hospital mortuary.

A case has been registered at K.R. Pet Rural Police Station.
