Two youths commit suicide

Mysuru: Two youths have committed suicide in separate incidents.

In the first incident, a 29-year-old youth, unable to bear the demise of his mother, committed suicide by hanging self at Vajamangala here yesterday. The deceased has been identified as Satish.

The incident: Satish’s mother Rathnamma (45), who was ailing, was undergoing treatment at a hospital in city, where she breathed her last on Sunday night.  Satish had lost his father a couple of years ago.

Satish, who took part in the last rites of his mother on Monday at the village, went into depression as he was very much attached to his mother.

Yesterday night, Satish recorded a two-hour-long video in which he has stated that he could not live without his mother.

Asking for forgiveness from his friends, relatives and villagers, Satish committed suicide by hanging self at his house.

Vajamangala SI Sandeep and staff, who rushed to the spot, conducted mahazar but the villagers prevented the cops from registering a case. SI Sandeep convinced the villagers that a case has to be registered as it was a case of unnatural death and registered a case.

In the second incident, a 29-year-old youth from J.C. Nagar here, unable to repay the loans, attempted suicide by consuming poison and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital here where he succumbed last night.

The deceased youth has been identified as Krishnaprasad, who was working as a Store Keeper at a jewellery stores in city. Krishnaprasad, who had taken loans to the tune of about Rs. 10 lakh, had attempted to end his life by consuming poison on Jan. 13 following which he was admitted. Nazarbad Police have registered a case.
