UGD work: Traffic ban on Ashoka Road

August 24, 2019

Mysuru: The laying of Underground Drainage (UGD) on the busy Ashoka Road has begun and hence the traffic movement has been banned for a few days.

The laying of new pipeline for the UGD from Ashoka Road’s Lashkar Police Station to Meelad Bagh has begun from the last three days. The work was lying unattended for a number years and finally it has been taken up.

The traffic on this road moving towards the Mysore Palace has been banned. Since several years the UGD pipes would get clogged and water would overflow on to the road which was causing inconvenience to the pedestrians and the motorists. Now, this problem would be sorted out. The Rs.34 lakh worth contract has been given to one Jagannath. The road is being dug with the help of JCB and new pipes are being laid.
