Mysore Chess Club has organised an All India Open Chess Tournament for U-15 children for the first time in city from Nov.21 to 25 at the Gymnastic Hall of University of Mysore (UoM).
Disclosing this at a press meet at Pathrakartara Bhavan here yesterday, Club Vice-President Nagendra Muralidhar said that the Tourney will be inaugurated on Nov.21 at 9.30 am by M.R. Jayaram, Founder-Member, M.S. Ramaiah Educational Institutions, with ZP CEO K. Jyoti as chief guest.
Continuing, Nagendra said that about 300 chess players from across the country would participate in the tourney which will carry a total prize money of Rs.2.5 lakh. The event will be held under eight categories each having nine rounds. Prizes will be given separately for boys and girls at the valedictory on Nov.25, he explained.
