Unlevelled pit posing danger to motorists

July 15, 2026

Sir,

In Kanakadasanagar, on the road opposite Ultima Health Care, the pit dug up for laying pipeline hasn’t been filled with mud properly and the hole is so deep that tyres of four-wheelers go below with a thud and imagine what would happen to two-wheelers when they bump into the pit.

When permission is given for road-cutting or digging, the companies concerned must be told to level the pit; if not done, heavy penalty must be imposed.

Now the civic authorities have to give attention to level all the dug up and half-closed pits.
