Use of plastic bottles banned in Govt. Offices

The State Government recently issued an order banning the use of plastic bottles for drinking water in Government offices, public meeting, official programmes throughout the State. A notice in this regard was issued by Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms, Deputy Secretary K. Ravindra to all Ministries, Government Departments, Boards and Corporations, Universities and aided institutions to implement the ban.

According to the order, serving drinking water in single-use plastic bottles during official meetings and programmes has been prohibited. Instead, the officials have been ordered to provide drinking water in reusable steel containers or paper glasses.
