Mysore/Mysuru: University of Mysore (UoM) Vice-Chancellor Prof. G. Hemantha Kumar released senior journalist Dr. Kudli Gururaj’s translated work ‘Dynamics of Reporting’ at a programme held at Mysuru District Journalists Association (MDJA) Office on Tyagaraja Road here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Hemantha Kumar said that Journalism and Communication have become all the more dynamic now with the advent of modern technology and gadgets. Pointing out that communication has become an integral part of life, he called for idealism in journalism.
Maintaining that journalism has become a part of development, social, political and religious activities, he said that Kudli Gururaj’s book is mainly focused on these issues. Observing that the author has explained in detail the challenges, use of technology, media laws and the role of Press Council of India, the VC said that the book is a handy one for budding journalists. He stressed on the need for sticking on to facts and figures while reporting and also to concentrate more on building a better society.
Central University of Assam, Silchar, former Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.V. Nagaraj spoke about the book, which has been translated from Kannada to English by Bengaluru-based senior journalist Vijaykumar Patil. The book is published by Sri Jayateertha Publications.
MDJA President S.T. Ravikumar (RK) presided. MDJA office-bearers M. Subramanya, B. Raghavendra and others were present on the occasion.
