Veteran film actor Srinath star attraction at Kautilya Vidyalaya Annual Day

Mysore/Mysuru: Kautilya Vidyalaya celebrated its Annual Day with great enthusiasm on Dec.10 at KSOU Convocation Hall in two sessions. The morning session had the programmes presented by the students of Pre-kg to Grade 2 while the evening session had programmes presented by students from Grade 3 to 10.

The morning session was in honour of grandparents as ‘Kiriyara Keerthige Hiriyara Spoorthi’ where students came up with beautiful dances, rhymes, recitations and songs. Many games were also organised for the grandparents.

Five teachers — Asha Chaturvedi, K.R. Geetha, Mohammad Ghouse, Umesh Kumar and Dhritima Hazowary — were felicitated with ‘Kautilya Rathna’ award comprising a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 each and mementoes.

Raaj Ashrieth, who scored 99.2 percent in the boards and became the district topper, was awarded a cash prize of Rs. 25,000. The School also honoured ten students for excelling in non-academic fields such as music, dance, sports, karate etc.

The chief guests for the morning session were Mayor Shivakumar, MLA G.T. Devegowda and Dr. Y.S.R. Murthy, Vice-Chancellor of RV University, Bengaluru. Veteran cine actor and producer Srinath and Geeta Srinath were the guests of honour.

The evening session was celebrated in honour of the rich culture of Mysore as ‘Mysore Saamskrithika Parva’. It comprised songs, dances and dramas.

Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Bengaluru, D.D. Shamala, was the chief guest. Dr. Y.S.R. Murthy, Founding-VC of RV University and Dr. M.S. Prakash, Trustee of RV Group of institutions, Bengaluru, were the guests of honour.

Kautilya Vidyalaya is also associated with charitable works and has taken up the responsibility of certain aspects of orphanages for young boys and girls named as Sharda Nele and Ajitha Nele. The girls of Sharda Nele presented a dance performance in the morning while the boys of Ajitha Nele performed in the evening session.

Chairman T. Babu presided. Vice-Principal B.B. Radhika and KG Coordinator Suchitra welcomed. Principal V.R. Shashikala presented the annual report.
