Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada Project Director has, in a press release, requested people to provide any Classical Kannada books to the Centre. After the Indian Government certified Kannada Language as a Classical Language in 2008 various seminars, programmes, debates, workshops were held throughout the country. Many books relating Classical Kannada, its importance etc., were published by both Government and Private publications.

In this regard, literary books written by litterateurs Prof. T.V. Venkatachala Shastry, R.V.S. Sundaram, Prof. Lingadevaru Halemane, Dr. N. Geethacharya, Dr. K.V. Narayana, Dr. H.S. Raghavendra Rao, Dr. Mohana Krishna Rai and others were published. Hampi Kannada University, Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Kannada Development Authority, Bengaluru, Kannada Book Authority and other publications and organisations too have published various books. In order to compile all the books of Classical Kannada which are on the verge of vanishing, Centre of Excellence for Studies in Classical Kannada will collect books and publish a comprehensive volume of Classical Kannada books.
