Mysore/Mysuru: National Consumer Rights Day celebration, a week-long event was organised by NSS and Red Cross Youth Wing at Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, Mysuru, in collaboration with Mysore Grahakara Parishat (MGP) from Dec. 18 to Dec. 24.
The events were designed to foster awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities, featuring activities such as poster design, essay writing and a quiz competition.
A notable highlight of the week was “Devsprint,” a 24-hour Hackathon conducted in honour of National Consumer Rights Day. A total of 27 teams participated, and the team “Code Hunters“ — comprising members DVSK Sriharipriya, Chinmay, Kshithij, M. Vedanta and Aiman Shariff — emerged as the winners. The week’s culmination took place with “Stride for Consumer Rights,” a 3-km walk aimed at further disseminating awareness about consumer rights and responsibilities.
The week was a resounding success, with active participation and support from students, faculty and esteemed guests, reaffirming the commitment to promoting consumer rights and responsibilities in the community.
