Week-long International Women’s Day celebrations by SWR Mysuru Division

Mysore/Mysuru: South Western Railway (SWR), Mysuru Division, is celebrating International Women’s Day with week-long activities from Mar. 1 to 8. The celebrations include cycle rally, breast cancer screening camp by NIRAMAI (an artificial intelligence-led radiation-free, non-contact breast health screening solution), quiz competition and games.

The week-long celebrations under the theme DigitALL Innovation and Technology for Gender Equality, was flagged-off with a cycle rally yesterday from Chamundi Club in Yadavagiri upto the Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRM) Office.

More than 50 women employees and other staff of SWR Mysuru Division participated in the rally.

Three-day Breast Cancer Screening Camp for women Railway employees was inaugurated by Pooja Agarwal, President, South Western Women Welfare Organisation (SWRWWO), Mysuru, at DRM’s Office today.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that the aim of this week-long celebration is to empower and recognise the contribution of women in the society and to create awareness about the importance of self-health care and preventive health check-ups.

SWRWWO is proud to be a part of the fight against breast cancer and encourage all women employees to get screened regularly and hope this celebration will also be an opportunity to celebrate the many achievements of women in the society.

While concluding her speech, she said that the organisation is confident that this week-long celebration will help instil a sense of self-confidence, courage and strength in women and encourage them to strive for excellence in all spheres of life.

Later about 25 women housekeeping staff were feted by SWRWWO for their exemplary work.

Valedictory will be held on Mar. 8. It includes a talk by a guest speaker, distribution of awards and certificates for winners of various contests and activities.
