Weekend concerts at Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha

Mysore/Mysuru: Sri Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha has organised weekend concerts at its premises on JLB Road in city at 6 pm.

June 17: For T.V. Srinivasan Memorial Concert sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Nagarajan Srinivasan, Vidu. Jayanthi Sridharan from Chennai will present a vocal concert, accompanied by Vidu. C.V. Shruti on violin, Vid. Sai Shiva Lakshmi Keshav on mridanga and Vid. Shamith Gowda on ghata.

Jayanthi’s journey into Karnatak Music was initiated by her mother Prema Raghavachari, who was her first guru. She was fortunate to continue to learn under eminent Sangeetha Kalanidhis like Maharajapuram Santhanam and R. Vedavalli under whom she received the Government of India Scholarship.

Going on to learn from Dr. M.L .Vasanthakumari whom she accompanied on her concert tours all over India and abroad, she continued her quest of learning under the guidance of violin Maestro  M. Chandrashekharan.

June 18: Vocal concert by Vid.Sriram Sastry from Bengaluru accompanied by Vid. Venkatesh Josier on violin, Vid. A. Radhesh on mridanga and Vid. S. Manjunath on ghata for an endowment programme in memory of Sabha’s former Secretary M.H. Raja Rao sponsored by family & friends and M.R. Vekatadasappa and Smt. Lakshamma Memorial Concert sponsored by late M.V. Ramachandra Rao & family.

Sriram Sastry is a Karnatak Classical Vocalist from Bengaluru. He is disciple of Padma Shri awardee Sangeetha Kala Acharya Vid. R.N. Thyagarajan. Born in a family of connoisseurs of music, Sriram began to learn vocal music at the age of 10.

A creative performing artiste, ‘B High’ graded from AIR, he is a recipient of prestigious Scholarships and Fellowships. He is an M. Tech in Structural Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU).
