Sir,
The stench of overflowing sewage from a manhole near Vidyavardhaka College of Engineering, adjacent to the Vijayanagar Water Tank, has become an unbearable ordeal for residents and commuters. Though authorities were alerted earlier and the manhole was swiftly repaired, the relief was short-lived.
Now, another manhole just a stone’s throw away from the fixed one has burst open, gushing foul water onto the streets. The overpowering stench has turned daily walks and morning commutes into a test of endurance, with the putrid odour assaulting the senses.
This recurring nightmare lays bare the Mysuru City Corporation’s indifference, their actions no more effective than “pouring water on a buffalo’s back.”
Each failed fix deepens public frustration and every journey down this stretch of road becomes a silent cry for a lasting solution that never arrives. The question hangs heavy in the air, as noxious as the stench itself: “When will this fetid saga finally come to an end?”
