C. Pavan of Mysuru with 6.5 points from seven rounds won the Mysore District Chess Association’s (MDCA) U-19 Open Chess Tournament-2019, conducted by MDCA at the University Lions Hall premises here on Sunday.
M.N. Eshanvi and M.G. Prameeth tied with 5.5 points each from seven rounds, finished second and third respectively on the basis of their progressive tie-break scorers.
Prizes were given for the winners in U-19 Open, U-13, U-10, U-7 Boys and Girls sections.
Former State Chess Champion Y.G. Vijeendra distributed the prizes to the winners.
MDCA President Sudarshan,
Hon. Secretary K.R. Shivaramegowda, Vice-President Biddappa were present on the occasion.
