Madikeri: Depressed over her son’s bad behaviour, a mother shot herself dead at her house in Madikeri yesterday morning.

The deceased woman identified as Vani Shenoy (46), shot herself with a revolver.

It is learnt that Vani’s son who was studying in 9th standard was not attending classes regularly and was addicted to social networking site Facebook. It is alleged that he had opened a fake Facebook account in the name of his mother’s friend and was sending messages. His mother’s friend who came to know about this had come to the house and had advised him.

Vani had celebrated her birthday about two days ago and her friends had not come to wish her, which depressed her more.

She had mentioned about this to her husband Ganesh Shenoy, a Manager at a Herbal Garden in Baghamandala. Unable to bear her son’s behaviour, Vani shot herself dead yesterday.

Madikeri Town Police have registered a case in this regard.
