Mysore/Mysuru: “In the world of cinemas, women will have a lot of opportunities, but at the same time they have to face a lot of challenges. Success can be only attained only when women surpass all these challenges and are keen to set a bench mark at the film industry,” opined Anchor and Director Sheetal Shetty.

She was addressing film enthusiasts at the valedictory of film-making workshop organised by Dasara Film Sub-Committee at Rani Bahaddur Auditorium in Manasagangothri premises here on Saturday.

“During the three- day workshop several film-making techniques, tips related to direction and many other aspects related to film production have been taught by several directors who had come as resource persons to the workshop. It is the right time for all the participants to make use of the skills learnt throughout the workshop by making good films,” she said.

Pointing out that the film industry is not only about fashion, Sheetal said that women should work in this industry. “Working at all the facets of the industry is highly important in order to explore all dynamic wings of cinema.  They must overcome their inferiority complex and give their 100 percent in their works,” she advised.

Short films were screened on the occasion. Awards were distributed to the best ones. Short film titled ‘Namma Police’ produced by Santosh Kumar and featuring Pradeep Kumar bagged the first prize, while ‘Arya Vartha’ secured the second prize.

C.M. Mahadevaiah, Kiran Jayaramegowda, Honnalli Venkatesh, Prakash Patel, Uddith Gowda, Dasara Film Sub-Committee Deputy Special Officer R. Sheshu and Department of Information and Public Relation Assistant Director and Sub-Committee Member-Secretary T.K. Harish Kumar were present on the occasion.
