Women’s State-level T20 Cricket in city

Mysuru: The five-day State-level Women’s Cricket Tournament, organised by the Department of Physical Education, University of Mysore and Bowlout Cricket Academy, Mysuru, began at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium (Gangothri Glades) in city on Monday. The tournament will conclude on May 23.

The tournament, organised in T20 format, had to see the inaugural match reduced to 10-over slot, due to the rain in the morning. The following matches were however increased to 15-over slot.In the first match, Nice Devil’s team won against Kohinoor Vijayapura team, registering a eight wicket victory, against the target of 48 runs set by the rival team, for the loss of six wickets. While in the second match played between the co-host Bowlout Cricket Academy and 22 Yard Excellence teams, the latter won the toss and elected to bat. They scored 59 runs by losing six wickets. Chasing the target, Bowlout Cricket Academy registered a thumping victory, scoring 63 runs, with nine wickets remaining.

Apart from Mysuru, cricket teams from other districts like Cambridge Cricket Club, Bengaluru, Kohinoor Vijayapura, 22 Yards Excellence, KIOC, Bengaluru, Rajajinagar Cricketers, Bengaluru, Jawans Bengaluru, SMS Mangaluru and Kreeda Kshetra Macushla, Bengaluru, teams are participating in                     the tournament.

Day-2 Results

Rajajinagar CC: 165/3 (17 overs) – Keerthi Santhosh 43 (39), Muskan Singh 51 (36), Sayali Lonkar 39 (21), Tahira 3-0-12-1 beat Jawans CC: 74 all out (16.2 overs) – Gauri Methi 26 (33), Hiranya 3-0-9-02, Drithi 3-1-7-02.

SMS Udupi: 96/2 (15 overs) – Shelina Laxmidas 37 (36), Kusuma 21 (26), Bhavika Reddy 03-0-17-01 lost to Kreeda Kshetra-Macushla, Bengaluru: 97/1 (13.2 overs) – Bhavika Reddy 48 (41), Karnika karthick 38 (32), Chaitra Sonu 3-0-14-01.

KIOC, Bengaluru: 141/4 (15 overs) – Pooja Dhananjay 59(40), Rohini Dechamma 24(20), Anurati Soni 2-0-21-01 beat Jawans Bengaluru: 60/7 (15 overs) – Moksh Premjit 14 (23), Francica 12 (10), Namitha 3-0-15-02, Pooja Kumari 3-0-6-02.
