Belagavi: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the world’s second-largest Khadi National Flag, which was displayed on the grand steps at the Western side of Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belagavi this morning.
The flag measures 9,600 sq.ft in area. The flag was reportedly prepared by a family from Kamalapura village in Kalaburagi district. The monumental flag is made of Khadi fabric, consistent with the Indian tradition for significant national flags.
Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, Karnataka Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H.K. Patil, MLC and KPCC Working President Saleem Ahmed, Chief Whip in the State Assembly Ashok Pattan, State Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and a host of other Legislators and officials were present at the historic moment.
