Mysore/Mysuru: A 28-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by his four friends near his house at Vidyanagar here on Saturday night.
The deceased youth has been identified as Balaraj, a resident of Vidyanagar 4th Cross in city and the accused have been identified as Tejas, Sanjay, Kiran and Samrat, all friends of Balaraj and residents of the same locality.
According to Police, Balaraj was working for a bookie at Mysore Race Course (MRC) and the accused and the victim were childhood friends. They were residing on the same street.
On Saturday night, a fight broke out between them and the neighbours, who pacified them, sent them away.
But the four again went in front of Balaraj’s house and picked up a fight again and when Balaraj’s father tried to thwart the fight, the accused stabbed Balaraj and fled from the spot. Balaraj reportedly died on the spot.
Based on the complaint from Balaraj’s relatives, Nazarbad Police, who have registered a case, have launched a hunt to nab the accused who are absconding.
