He had earlier attempted to end life twice

Mysore/Mysuru: A 30-year-old youth has reportedly committed suicide by consuming poison on his birthday on Wednesday night.

The deceased is S. Karthik, a Medical Representative, who was residing at N.R. Mohalla in city. He had earlier attempted to end his life on two occasions, but was saved. Unfortunately on Wednesday night, he ended his life by consuming poison near Paschimavahini in Srirangapatna and the incident came to light yesterday morning, when passersby came across his body and informed the Police.

It is learnt that Karthik lost his mother Dr. Parvathi when he was just two-years-old and his father Shivalingaiah passed away a few years back. He was under the care of his aunt and was residing at a rented room in N.R. Mohalla here.

On Wednesday night at about 10.30, one of his friends saw him standing near the Toll Gate on Bengaluru-Mysuru Highway and when his friend questioned him, Karthik is said to have told his friend that he was waiting for someone. Karthik then took a drop on his friend’s bike to Siddalingapura and had walked to Paschimavahini where he reportedly consumed poison and ended his life, according to the Police.

Srirangapatna Police, who have registered a case, shifted the body to MMC&RI mortuary in city and when the Police inspected his room they found a note written in English stating, ‘Friends, if I have hurt anyone please forgive me. I will not be with you all in future.’ The Police have also found a gold chain and a gold finger ring in the room, according to Police sources.

It was his third attempt: Karthik, who had lost his parents, had attempted to end his life twice earlier, but luckily, he had survived.
