Mysuru: Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens is celebrating World Environment Day on June 5 with a few unique programmes.
The day will begin at 10 am with inauguration and signature campaign. At 10.15 am, there will be nature walk with elephant calf Chamundi and at 11 am the naming ceremony of a zebra.
This will be followed by tree planting at 12 noon and at 1 pm the Himalayan Black Bear will be released into its new home.
The painting competition with the theme “Connecting People to Nature” will begin at 2.30 pm and at 4.30 pm there will be the naming ceremony of a giraffe. The programme will end at 5 pm with feedback.
Condition for participants
Each school can send five students (6th to 10th standard) along with a teacher. The list of participants should be confirmed before June 3 through email: [email protected] and students who are participating in painting competition should bring all necessary items. However, Mysuru Zoo will provide only drawing sheets.
