Parampare special lecture series from Mar. 20 to 27

March 19, 2017

‘Parampare,’ a leading cultural organisation of city, has been conducting Vaachana – Vyakhyana of Valmiki Ramayana from August 2016. The melody of Ramayana shlokas and poetic beauty of aadi kavya were highlighted in the series.

Now a special series of lectures is arranged from March 20 to 27 at Mysore K. Vasudevacharya Bhavana (Nadabrahma Sangeetha Sabha), JLB Road, daily from 6 pm to 8 pm.

There are controversial situations in Uttara Kanda where actions of Rama cannot be justified. Many scholars feel that Uttara Kanda itself is interpolation. Though Uttara Kanda is full of upakathas, a few will be highlighted in the series. Stress is given to Dharmajignasa in this lecture series. A special survey of Kannada poetic works which have used the material of Uttara Kanda will be presented by Dr. Kabbinale Vasanth Bharadwaj.
