Mysuru: Continuing the series of rehearsals in the context of International Yoga Day to be observed on June 21, Yoga Federation of Mysuru (YFM), in association with several Yoga Associations, had organised yoga rehearsals at three places in city — Sougandhika Park and Namana Park in Kuvempunagar and at a park near K.D. Circle in Vijayanagar 2nd Stage.
About 400, 100 and 50 yoga enthusiasts had participated at the three venues respectively.
The rehearsals were done strictly abiding by the yoga protocol set up by the Guinness World Records beginning with a prayer and ending with yoga namaskar.
YFM President Dr. Maruthi, Vice-President Srihari, Treasurer B.P. Murthy, Dr. Ganesh Kumar, Corporator Subbaiah and others were present.
Speaking on the occasion, B.P. Murthy said that the rehearsal to be held on June 9 at Palace premises would have about 5,000 participants and on June 16 at Race Course would have about 60,000 participants. He plans to mobilise 1.5 lakh yoga performance for June 21.
He added that the DC had assured him of all support to observe International Yoga Day by creating good awareness among people.
